श्री शुक उवाच -
Shree Shuka said -
एवं विप्रकृतो राजन् बलिर्भगवतासुर: ।
भिद्यमानोऽप्यऽभिन्नात्मा प्रत्याहाविक्लवं वच: ॥१॥
एवम् विप्रकृत: राजन्
thus insulted, O King!
बलि:-भगवता-असुर:
Bali, by the Lord, the Asura,
भिद्यमान:-अपि-अभिन्नात्मा
pierced though, the integrated soul
प्रत्याह-अविक्लवम् वच:
answered in untarnished words
O King! Though, Bali the Asura chief was pierced by The Lord's insulting words, an integrated soul that he was, he answered in cool and calculated words.
बलि:-उवाच -
Bali said -
यद्युत्तमश्लोक भवान् ममेरितं वचो व्यलीकं सुरवर्य मन्यते ।
करोम्यृतं तन्न भवेत् प्रलम्भनं पदं तृतीयं कुरु शिर्ष्णि मे निजम् ॥२॥
यत्-उत्तम-श्लोक भवान्
in that, the high-famed Yourself,
मम-ईरितम् वच:
my spoken words
व्यलीकम् सुरवर्य मन्यते
untruthful, O Adorable of the gods! Consider
करोमि-ऋतम् तत्-न भवेत्
will make truthful that, not may be
प्रलम्भनम् पदम् तृतीयम्
deceitful, the step third
कुरु शिर्ष्णि मे निजम्
place on head my own
O Adorable of the gods! O of high fame! if You consider that I have spoken untruthful words, I will justify it, so that my words may be true and not deceitful. Do place the third foot-step on my own head.
विभेमि नाहं निरयात् पदच्युतो न पाशबन्धाद् व्यसनाद् दुरत्ययात् ।
नैवार्थकृच्छ्राद् भवतो विनिग्रहादसाधुवादाद् भृशमुद्विजे यथा ॥३॥
विभेमि न-अहम् निरयात्
fear not I of hell
पद-च्युत: न पाशबन्धात्
from position fallen, not of being bound with cords
व्यसनाद् दुरत्ययात्
of calamities, of sorrows
न-एव-अर्थ-कृच्छ्रात्
not even of wealth meagre
भवत: विनिग्रहात्-
of Your punishment
असाधु-वादात्
of miscreant being called
भृशम्-उद्विजे यथा
greatly disturbed as
Having fallen from my position, I am not that afraid of hell, of being bound by cords, of calamities, of sorrows, not even of meagre wealth, or being punished by You, as I am greatly disturbed of being called a rogue.
पुंसां श्लाघ्यतमं मन्ये दण्डमर्हत्तमार्पितम् ।
यं न माता पिता भ्राता सुहृदश्चादिशन्ति हि ॥४॥
पुंसाम् श्लाघ्यतमम् मन्ये
for the people most honourable, I consider
दण्डम्-अर्हत्तम्-अर्पितम्
the punishment by the most worthy inflicted
यम् न माता पिता भ्राता
which not mother, father, brother
सुहृद:-च-आदिशन्ति हि
friend and mete indeed
I consider the punishment inflicted by the most worthy person to be most honourable, which even a mother, father, brother or friend cannot mete out.
त्वं नूनमसुराणां न: पारोक्ष्य: परमो गुरु: ।
यो नोऽनेकमदान्धानां विभ्रंशं चक्षुरादिशत् ॥५॥
त्वम् नूनम्-असुराणाम्
You, certainly, of Asuras
न: पारोक्ष्य: परम: गुरु:
our indirect greatest benefactor
य: न:-अनेक-मद-अन्धानाम्
Who, us of many arrogance caused blinded
विभ्रंशम् चक्षु:-आदिशत्
deprived vision gave
Certainly, You are indirectly our greatest benefactor, Who deprived us, and so have given us vision, we, who have been blinded caused by many arrogances.
यस्मिन् वैरानुबन्धेन रूढेन विबुधेतरा: ।
बहवो लेभिरे सिद्धिं यामु हैकान्तयोगिन: ॥६॥
यस्मिन् वैर-अनुबन्धेन
in Whom, by enmity bonding
रूढेन विबुध-इतरा:
deep-rooted, gods' others (Asuras)
बहव: लेभिरे सिद्धिम्
many have attained perfection
याम्-उ ह-एकान्त-योगिन:
who it is said, indeed, exclusively devoted Yogis
Indeed, it is said that certainly many Asuras by their deep rooted bonding of enmity in Whom, have attained the final beatitude, which only the exclusively devoted Yogis have.
तेनाहं निगृहीतोऽस्मि भवता भूरिकर्मणा ।
बद्धश्च वारुणै: पाशैर्नातिव्रीडे न च व्यथे ॥७॥
तेन-अहम् निगृहीत:-अस्मि
by Him, (You), am captive taken, I
भवता भूरि-कर्मणा
by You of multifarious deeds
बद्ध:-च वारुणै: पाशै:-
bound and by Varuna's snares
न-अति-व्रीडे न च व्यथे
not am very ashamed, nor and suffer
By That You, of multifarious deeds, I am taken captive and bound by Varuna's snares. I am not, thereby, either ashamed or suffer.
पितामहो मे भवदीयसंमत: प्रह्लाद आविष्कृतसाधुवाद: ।
भवद्विपक्षेण विचित्रवैशसं संप्रापितस्त्वत्परम: स्वपित्रा ॥८॥
पितामह: मे भवदीय-संमत:
grandfather, mine, Your devotee
प्रह्लाद: आविष्कृत-साधुवाद:
Prahlaada, well-known as pious soul
भवत्-विपक्षेण विचित्र वैशसम्
by Your enemy, by various tortures
संप्रापित:-त्वत्-परम: स्व-पित्रा
subjected, Your esteemed, by own father
My grandfather, Prahlaada, Your esteemed devotee, who was well-known as a pious soul, was tortured in various ways, by his own father, Your enemy.
किमात्मनानेन जहाति योऽन्तत: किं रिक्थहारै: स्वजनाख्यदस्युभि: ।
किं जायया संसृतिहेतुभूतया मर्तस्य गेहै: किमिहायुषो व्यय: ॥९॥
किम्-आत्मना-अनेन
what of body this
जहाति य:-अन्तत:
perishes which ultimately
किम्-रिक्थहारै:
what of, emptying by taking away (the wealth)
स्व-जन-आख्य-दस्युभि:
own people called robbers
किम् जायया
what of the wife
संसृति-हेतु-भूतया
transmigration cause serving
मर्तस्य गेहै:
of the mortal of the houses
किम्-इह-आयुष: व्यय:
what of, here lifetime wasting
What is the purpose of this body which perishes ultimately, by the so called own people, the robbers who empty one of his wealth by taking it away, of the wife who serves the cause of transmigration, or for the mortal, of houses, or wasting of a lifetime here, in this world?
इत्थं स निश्चित्य पितामहो महानगाधबोधो भवत: पादपद्मम् ।
ध्रुवं प्रपेदे ह्यकुतोभयं जनाद् भीत: स्वपक्षक्षपणस्य सत्तम: ॥१०॥
इत्थम् स: निश्चित्य
in this manner, he decided
पितामह: महान्-
grandfather the great
अगाध-बोध:
of deep wisdom
भवत: पाद-पद्मम्
Your feet lotus
ध्रुवम् प्रपेदे हि-अकुत:-भयम्
eternal took shelter, indeed from no where afraid
जनात् भीत:
from people afraid
स्व-पक्ष-क्षपणस्य सत्तम:
own people to exterminate adapt
In this manner, the great grandfather, of deep wisdom, afraid of worldly people, decided, and took shelter in Your eternal lotus feet, which have no fear from any quarters, in You, Who are adapt at exterminating his own people.
अथाहमप्यात्मरिपोस्तवान्तिकं दैवेन नीत: प्रसभं त्याजितश्री: ।
इदं कृतान्तान्तिकवर्ति जीवितं ययाध्रुवं स्तब्धमतिर्न बुध्यते ॥११॥
अथ-अहम्-अपि-आत्म-रिपो:-
then, I also, my own enemy,
तव-अन्तिकम् दैवेन नीत:
Your near, by Providence, forcibly taken,
प्रसभम् त्याजित-श्री:
robbed of wealth
इदम् कृतान्त-अन्तिकवर्ति
this of Death close
जीवितम् यया ध्रुवम्
life, by which certainly
स्तब्ध-मति:-न बुध्यते
dumb minded does not understand
Then, I also, forcibly robbed of wealth, by Providence, have been brought near to You, my enemy. This life is certainly close to Death, which, this dumb mind does not understand.
श्री शुक उवाच -
Shree Shuka said -
तस्येत्थं भाषमाणस्य प्रह्लादो भगवत्प्रिय: ।
आजगाम कुरुश्रेष्ठ राकापतिरिवोत्थित: ॥१२॥
तस्य-इत्थम् भाषमाणस्य
his thus saying
प्रह्लाद: भगवत्-प्रिय:
Prahlaada, Lord's beloved
आजगाम कुरु-श्रेष्ठ
came, O Foremost of the Kurus!
राकापति:-इव-उत्थित:
moon like risen
As he was saying thus, The Lord's beloved, Prahlaada, appeared there, like the moon arising (on the horizon).
तमिन्द्रसेन: स्वपितामहं श्रिया विराजमानं नलिनायतेक्षणम् ।
प्रांशुं पिशङ्गाम्बरमञ्जनत्विषं प्रलम्बबाहुं सुभगं समैक्षत ॥१३॥
तम्-इन्द्रसेन: स्व-पितामहम्
him, Bali, own grandfather
श्रिया विराजमानम्
by glory accompanied
नलिन-आयत-ईक्षणम्
lotus wide eyed
प्रांशुम् पिशङ्ग-अम्बरम्-
tall, yellow garment
अञ्जनत्विषम् प्रलम्ब-बाहुम्
collyrium like dark, long armed
सुभगम् समैक्षत
handsome saw
Bali, saw, his own grandfather, accompanied with glory, lotus wide eyed, tall, wearing yellow garment, with collyrium like dark complexion, long armed and handsome.
तस्मै बलिर्वारुणपाशयन्त्रित: समर्हणं नोपजहार पूर्ववत् ।
ननाम् मूर्ध्नाश्रुविलोललोचन: सव्रीडनीचीनमुखो बभूव ह ॥१४॥
तस्मै बलि:-वारुण-पाश-यन्त्रित:
for him, Bali, by Varuna snares bound,
समर्हणम् न-उपजहार पूर्ववत्
worship did not bring like before
ननाम् मूर्ध्ना-अश्रु-विलोल-लोचन:
bowed down by head, tears brimming eyes
सव्रीड-नीचीन-मुख: बभूव ह
with shame bent face became indeed
Bali, being bound with Varuna's snares, could not bring for him the proper worship articles like before. With tears brimming in his eyes, he bowed down his head, indeed his face bent down in shame.
स तत्र हासीनमुदीक्ष्य सत्पतिं सुनन्दनन्दाद्यनुगैरुपासितम् ।
उपेत्य भूमौ शिरसा महामना ननाम मूर्ध्ना पुलकाश्रुविक्लव: ॥१५॥
स: तत्र ह-आसीनम्-
he, there, indeed sitting
उदीक्ष्य सत्पतिम्
seeing The Lord (Protector of the virtuous)
सुनन्द-नन्द-आदि-
Sunanda, Nanda, and other
अनुगै:-उपासितम्
attendents waited upon
उपेत्य भूमौ शिरसा
nearing, on the ground with head
महामना ननाम मूर्ध्ना
The great hearted (Prahlaada), bowed by head
पुलक-अश्रु-विक्लव:
with horripilation and tears overwhelmed
There, indeed, he (Prahlaada) saw The Lord, The Protector of the virtuous, waited upon by his attendents Sunanda, Nanda and others. Approaching Him, The great hearted Prahlaada, with horripilation, and overwhelmed with tears, bowed low with his head on the ground.
प्रह्लाद उवाच -
Prahlaada said -
त्वयैव दत्तं पदमैन्द्रमूर्जितं हृतं तदेवाद्य तथैव शोभनम् ।
मन्ये महानस्य कृतो ह्यनुग्रहो विभ्रंशितो यच्छ्रिय आत्ममोहनात् ॥१६॥
त्वया-एव दत्तम्
by You alone was bestowed
पदम्-ऐन्द्रम्-ऊर्जितम्
the position of Indra, the exalted
हृतम् तत्-एव-अद्य
taken away that only today
तथा-एव शोभनम्
that also (is) very enchanting
मन्ये महान्-अस्य-कृत:
I consider it great, of this action
हि-अनुग्रह: विभ्रंशित: यत्-
indeed favour, deported in that
श्रिय: आत्म-मोहनात्
from fortune, from self infatuating
The exalted position of Indra was bestowed on Bali by You alone, which You have taken away today. I consider that also very gracious, and this action is a great favour to him, in that, he is deported from his fortune which is self infatuating.
यया हि विद्वानपि मुह्यते यतस्तत् को विचष्टे गतिमात्मनो यथा ।
तस्मै नमस्ते जगदीश्वराय वै नारायणायाखिललोकसाक्षिणे ॥१७॥
यया हि विद्वान्-अपि
by whom the wise also
मुह्यते यत:-तत् क:
is infatuated, by which, that who
विचष्टे गतिम्-आत्मन: यथा
can fathom the true nature of self, so that,
तस्मै नमस्ते जगदीश्वराय वै
to Him salutations, the universe's Ruler, certainly,
नारायणाय-अखिल-
Naaraayana, of the whole
लोक-साक्षिणे
world The Witness
Wealth, by which the wise also are infatuated, so being infatuated by wealth, who can fathom the true status of ones' self in its true form. Salutations to That Ruler of the whole universe, certainly, to The Witness of all the worlds, to Him, Naaraayana.
श्री शुक उवाच -
Shree Shuka said -
तस्यानुशृण्वतो राजन् प्रह्लादस्य कृताञ्जले: ।
हिरण्यगर्भो भगवानुवाच मधुसूदनम् ॥१८॥
तस्य-अनुशृण्वत: राजन्
in his hearing, O King!
प्रह्लादस्य कृत-अञ्जले:
of Prahlaada, with folded hands
हिरण्यगर्भ: भगवान्-उवाच
Brahmaa, the lord, said
मधुसूदनम्
to Madhusoodana, (Vishnu)
O King! Within the hearing of Prahlaada, standing with folded hands, the lord Brahmaa said to Madhusoodana, Lord Vishnu.
बद्धं वीक्ष्य पतिं साध्वी तत्पत्नी भयविह्वला ।
प्राञ्जलि: प्रणतोपेन्द्रं बभाषेऽवाङ्मुखी नृप ॥१९॥
बद्धम् वीक्ष्य पतिम्
bound seeing (her) husband
साध्वी तत्-पत्नी
the pious his wife
भय-विह्वला
with fear overwhelmed
प्राञ्जलि: प्रणत-
with folded hands, bowing
उपेन्द्रम् भाषे-
to The Lord, said,
बअवाङ्-मुखी नृप
with down face, O King!
O King! His pious wife, seeing her husband bound, was overcome with fear. With folded hands, bowing, and facing down, she said to The Lord,...
विन्ध्यावलि:-उवाच -
Vindhyaavalee said -
क्रीडार्थमात्मन इदं त्रिजगत् कृतं ते ।
स्वाम्यं तु तत्र कुधियोऽपर ईश कुर्यु: ।
कर्तु: प्रभोस्तव किमस्यत आवहन्ति
त्यक्तह्रियस्त्वदवरोपितकर्तृवादा: ॥२०॥
क्रीडा-अर्थम्-आत्मन:
for sporting purpose, Your
इदम् त्रि-जगत् कृतम् ते
this, three fold universe created by You
स्वामि-अयम् तु तत्र
oneself master of this, indeed where
कुधि:-अपर: ईश कुर्यु:
pervert mind others, fortunate think
कर्तु: प्रभो:-तव किम्-
ownership, O Lord! To You, what
अस्यत आवहन्ति त्यक्त-ह्रिय:-
to Preserver and Destroyer, bring devoid of shame
त्वत्-अवरोपित-कर्तृ-वादा:
by You imposed the (false notion of) doer-ship
O Lord! You have created this three fold universe, for the purpose of Your sporting. Indeed, where some others, (Bali etc.), pervert minded, who have some fortune, and are devoid of all shame, consider themselves as the proprietor of this world, a notion of doer-ship, which is also imposed in them, by You. What can such people, bring as gift to You, The Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer?
ब्रह्मा-उवाच -
Brahmaa said -
भूतभावन भूतेश देवदेव जगन्मय ।
मुञ्चैनं हृतसर्वस्वं नायमर्हति निग्रहम् ॥२१॥
भूत-भावन भूत-ईश
O Of the beings The Creator! of beings The Lord!
देव-देव जगत्-मय
God of gods! O Cosmic Being!
मुञ्च-एनम् हृत-सर्वस्वम्
release him, stripped of everything
न-अयम्-अर्हति निग्रहम्
not this deserves to be in bondage
O The Creator of the beings! The Lord of the beings! God of gods! O Cosmic Being! release him. Stripped of everything, he does not deserve to be in bondage.
कृत्स्ना तेऽनेन दत्ता भूर्लोका: कर्मार्जिताश्च ये ।
निवेदितं च सर्वस्वमात्माविक्लवया धिया ॥२२॥
कृत्स्ना ते-अनेन
the whole to You, by him
दत्ता भू:-लोका:
is given the terrestrial regions
कर्म-अर्जिता:-च ये
by noble deeds earned and those
निवेदितम् च सर्वस्वम्-
offered and the entire (belongings)
आत्मा-अविक्लवया धिया
and self, with unwavering mind
The whole of the terrestrial regions and those which he earned by his noble deed, heaven and Ariel regions, he has given to You. He has offered to You all that belonged to him, even his own self, with an unwavering mind.
यत्पादयोरशठधी: सलिलं प्रदाय
दुर्वाङ्कुरैरपि विधाय सतीं सपर्याम् ।
अप्युत्तमां गतिमसौ भजते त्रिलोकीं
दाश्वानविक्लवमना: कथमार्तिमृच्छेत् ॥२३॥
यत्-पादयो:-अशठ-धी:
who, the feet, undeceitful minded
सलिलम् प्रदाय
water poured
दुर्वा-अङ्कुरै:-अपि विधाय
with grass sprouts also carried out
सतीम् सपर्याम्
proper worship
अपि-उत्तमाम् गतिम्-
also the highest state
असौ भजते त्रिलोकीम्
he attains the three worlds
दाश्वन्-अविक्लव-मना:
giver with undeterred mind
कथम्-आर्तिम्-ऋच्छेत्
how come suffering deserves
One who, with undeceitful mind, systematically worships Your feet, by pouring water and with grass and sprouts, attains the highest state, how then, besides doing all this, the giver of even the three worlds with an undeterred mind, can deserve suffering?
श्री भगवान्-उवाच -
The glorious Lord said -
ब्रह्मन् यमनुगृह्णामि तद्विशो विधुनोम्यहम् ।
यन्मद: पुरुष: स्तब्धो लोकं मां चावमन्यते ॥२४॥
ब्रह्मन् यम्-अनुगृह्णामि
O Brahmaa! to whom I bless
तत्-विश: विधुनोमि-अहम्
his wealth take away I
तत्-मद: पुरुष: स्तब्ध:
by its intoxications, man dumbed
लोकम् माम् च-अवमन्यते
the world, Me and disregards
O Brahmaa! The person whom I bless, I take away his wealth, because intoxicated by it, he becomes dumb and disregards the world and even Me.
यदा कदाचिज्जीवात्मा संसरन् निजकर्मभि: ।
नानायोनिष्वनीशोऽयं पौरुषीं गतिमाव्रजेत् ॥२५॥
यदा कदाचित्-जीव-आत्मा
when sometimes, the living soul,
संसरन् निज-कर्मभि:
evaluating by own actions
नाना-योनिषु-अनीश:-अयम्
(through) various wombs, helpless, he,
पौरुषीम् गतिम्-आव्रजेत्
human state reaches
When at sometime, the living soul, evaluating, he, helpless by his own actions, reaches the human state…
जन्मकर्मवयोरूपविद्यैश्वर्यधनादिभि: ।
यद्यस्य न भवेत् स्तम्भस्तत्रायं मदनुग्रह: ॥२६॥
जन्म-कर्म-वय:-रूप-
by pedigree, actions, age, form,
विद्या-ऐश्वर्य-धन-आदिभि:
learning, power, affluence etc.,
यदि-अस्य न भवेत् स्तम्भ:-
if he does not become benumbed
तत्र-अयम् मत्-अनुग्रह:
there, this (is) My grace
If by pedigree, meritorious actions, pleasing form, learning, power, affluence, etc., a person is not benumbed, in that case, then, it is so by My grace.
मानस्तम्भनिमित्तानां जन्मादीनां समन्तत: ।
सर्वश्रेय: प्रतीपानां हन्त मुह्येन्न मत्पर: ॥२७॥
मान-स्तम्भ निमित्तानाम्
pride vanity causing
जन्म-आदीनाम् समन्तत:
pedigree and others, all are reasons
सर्व-श्रेय: प्रतीपानाम्
for all blessedness barring,
हन्त मुह्येत्-न मत्-पर:
Alas! is dumbed not Me devoted to
Alas! Pedigree and other affluences, all are pride and vanity causing which debar all blessings. The one who is devoted to Me is not dumbed by them.
एष दानवदैत्यानामग्रणी: कीर्तिवर्धन: ।
अजैषीदजयां मायां सीदन्नपि न मुह्यति ॥२८॥
एष: दानव-दैत्यानाम्-
this, he, of the Daityas and Daanavas,
अग्रणी: कीर्ति:-वर्धन:
the leader, and fame enhancers
अजैषीत्-अजयाम् मायाम्
has won the unconquerable Maayaa,
सीदन्-अपि न मुह्यति
suffering also is not dumbed
This, Bali, the leader of the Daityas and the Daanavas, the promoter of their glory, has won the unconquerable Maaya. So, even in the face of suffering he is not dumbed.
क्षीणरिक्थश्च्युत: स्थानात् क्षिप्तो बद्धश्च शत्रुभि: ।
ज्ञातिभिश्च परित्यक्तो यातनामनुयापित: ॥२९॥
क्षीण-रिक्थ:-च्युत: स्थानात्
depleted of wealth, deported from position
क्षिप्त: बद्ध:-च शत्रुभि:
reproached and tied down by the enemies
ज्ञातिभि:-च परित्यक्त:
by kins folk forsaken
यातनाम्-अनुयापित:
to torture subjected
Though, depleted of wealth, deported from position, reproached and tied down by the enemies, forsaken by kins folk, subjected to torture,…..
गुरुणा भर्त्सित: शप्तो जहौ सत्यं न सुव्रत: ।
छलैरुक्तो मया धर्मो नायं त्यजति सत्यवाक् ॥३०॥
गुरुणा भर्त्सित: शप्त:
by the preceptor reprimanded, cursed,
जहौ सत्यम् न सुव्रत:
gave up truth not, the firmly resolved
छलै:-उक्त: मया धर्म:
by sly remarks spoken, by Me righteousness
न-अयम् त्यजति सत्यवाक्
not this he, gives up truthfulness
He, of firm resolve, was reprimanded and cursed by the preceptor, but did not give up righteousness. Even though I gave sly remarks for righteousness, he does not give up truthfulness.
एष मे प्रापित: स्थानं दुष्प्रापममरैरपि ।
सावर्णेरन्तरस्यायं भवितेन्द्रो मदाश्रय: ॥३१॥
एष: मे प्रापित: स्थानम्
this he, My, has attained the position
दुष्प्रापम्-अमरै:-अपि
difficult to be attained by the gods also
सावर्णे:-अन्तरस्य-अयम्
in Saavarna Manvantara, he will
भविता-इन्द्र: मत्-आश्रय:
be Indra, by Me protected
He has attained that position of Mine which is difficult to be attained even by gods. In Saavarni Manvantara, under My protection, he will be the Indra.
तावत् सुतलमध्यास्तां विश्वकर्मविनिर्मितम् ।
यन्नाधयो व्याधयश्च क्लमस्तन्द्रा पराभव: ।
नोपसर्गा निवसतां संभवन्ति ममेक्षया ॥३२॥
तावत् सुतल-मध्य-आस्ताम्
till then, Sutala inside may live
विश्वकर्म-विनिर्मितम्
by Vishvakarmaa built
यत्-न-आधय: व्याधय:-च
where, not agonies, ailments and
क्लम:-तन्द्रा पराभव:
fatigue, drowsiness, mortification
न-उपसर्गा: निवसताम्
not trouble to those living
संभवन्ति मम-ईक्षया
will be, by My gracious sight
Till then, he may live in the Sutala, which is built by Vishvakarmaa. Where, agonies, ailments and fatigue, drowsiness, mortification are not there, no trouble will be there, to those living there, by My gracious sight.
इन्द्रसेन महाराज याहि भो भद्रमस्तु ते ।
सुतलं स्वर्गिभि: प्रार्थ्यं ज्ञातिभि: परिवारित: ॥३३॥
इन्द्रसेन महाराज याहि भो
'Indrasena! O Great King! go O You!
भद्रम्-अस्तु ते
good be to you
सुतलम् स्वर्गिभि: प्रार्थ्यम्
to Sutala, by the celestials coveted
ज्ञातिभि: परिवारित:
with own folk accompanied
O Great King! Indrasena! Good be to You! You go to Sutala accompanied by your folk, the realm which is coveted even by the celestial people.
न त्वामभिभविष्यन्ति लोकेशा: किमुतापरे ।
त्वच्छासनातिगान् दैत्यांश्चक्रं मे सूदयिष्यति ॥३४॥
न त्वाम्-अभिभविष्यन्ति
not you will overpower
लोकेशा: किमुत-अपरे
the quarters' guardians, what of others
त्वत्-शासन-अतिगान्
your command not obeying
दैत्यान्-चक्रम् मे सूदयिष्यति
the Daityas, discus My will kill
The guardians of the quarters will not overpower you, what of others. My discus will kill the Daityas who do not obey your commands.
रक्षिष्ये सर्वतोऽहं त्वां सानुगं सपरिच्छदम् ।
सदा सन्निहितं वीर तत्र मां द्रक्ष्यते भवान् ॥३५॥
रक्षिष्ये सर्वत:-अहम्
will protect from all sides, I
त्वाम् सानुगम् सपरिच्छदम्
you along with your people, with your possessions
सदा सन्निहितम् वीर
always near by, O Brave One!
तत्र माम् द्रक्ष्यते भवान्
there Me, will see you
I will protect you from all sides, along with your people and your possessions. O Brave One! there, you will always see Me near by.
तत्र दानवदैत्यानां सङ्गात् ते भाव आसुर: ।
दृष्ट्वा मदनुभावं वै सद्य: कुण्ठो विनङ्क्ष्यति ॥३६॥
तत्र दानव-दैत्यानाम्
there, of the Daanava and the Daityas
सङ्गात् ते भाव आसुर:
company your, tendency of Asuras'
दृष्ट्वा मद्-अनुभावम् वै
by seeing my glory
सद्य: कुण्ठ: विनङ्क्ष्यति
indeed soon checked
There, any demonic tendencies, due to the company of the Daityas and Daanavas, indeed, will soon be checked and destroyed, by My glory.
